First, schools and daycares have no business having the TV on when our children are there - period! If my children's school or daycare was allowing the children to watch TV I would speak to the Principal for head of the day care. Second, I dislike censorship of any time. It's okay for parents to ban certain movies and books in the privacy of their own home, but I believe in free speech for our country.

When my three girls were all under 14 or 15, I didn't let them watch TV unless it was something I approved - I did this as a safeguard in my own home. Whenever my children would be at their friend's houses, I would always check with the parent to make sure nothing inappropriate was being watched. I once made my 13 year old come home from a slumber party because they were going to watch an R-rated movied!

I think parents should be the ones monitoring what their children watch. Granted, you can't be with them all the time, but at least know what is going on in their lives.Bobbinoreply@blogger.com
