Today's question from MomDot is Have you started your Christmas shopping yet? Do you budget for the holidays? Do you always stick to your budget? Share with us any budgeting tips you may have!
Hubs has started some shopping, he went out a bought them some clothes. Toy shopping will be done throughout the weeks to come.
I buy little bits when I go shopping for groceries. Sometimes it's hard to go shopping because they have so many toys already but they don't play with them very often. I need to throw away a lot of the toys and that's a project that I will be doing in the weeks to come.

I have to go through all the toys we have too!! We do it together and i tell him its gonna go to the kids who don't have any toys and that usually motivates him to get rid of more stuff.
ReplyDeleteWe need to go through our toys too, or I'm not sure where we'll put any Christmas gifts. I have to clear stuff out every couple months, or the toys over run us.
ReplyDeleteI think my kids have too many presents too. Oh my goodness.
ReplyDeleteI am impressed that your hubby has done some of the shopping. My Dh for the most part leaves it all up to me. My mom and I are shopping buddies so Jim stays home with the monkeys
ReplyDeleteWe have way to many toys too! I need to pack some up and send them off to toyland.
ReplyDeleteDUDE, Tena he loves to go shopping for the boys!! He has done it every year and I hardly ever get to pick something out for them from just me!! So I just let him go and if there is something I see that I want to get them I buy it. LOL
ReplyDeleteI agree. My kids have tons of toys that they don't play with often. If I had room, I would store some away and then rotate them out.
ReplyDeleteYour blog looks awesome btw!

Smart to get rid of toys before the new ones arrive. We tend to just pile them up!
ReplyDeleteCheck out the new Family FotoFun Friday feature on my blog~ http://dianas-daily-ramblings.blogspot.com/
Time to recycle the old to make room for the new!!!
ReplyDeleteMy kids always have too many toys so in November we always clean the toy box out and donate a bunch of stuff to our Goodwill type store, that way other people benefit from the stuff they no longer want/use/need.
ReplyDeleteAt least your dh helps with the Christmas shopping. My dh would rather they go without then do that.
ReplyDeleteWe totally need to go through all the toys we have too! My youngest 2 have SO many toys that they never even play with! I'm jealous that your hubby helps with the shopping!!
ReplyDeleteYeah, we plan to go through Lily's things soon!
ReplyDeleteIf I let my husband shop he would spend way too much money!
ReplyDeleteYou could take several of the toy parts & pieces and put them in storage containers in the closet/attic/garage/guest room and every couple of months rotate items. Then the items become "new" again. If they don't want to play with them then you can donate them.

That reminds me, I need to clean out the toy box.
ReplyDeleteit's hard to know what to buy when they already have so much! like my dad, he has everything! and anything he wants, he just goes out and gets!
ReplyDeletethat's really cool that he helps! i'm usually the one doing our shopping!
ReplyDeleteone year, my stepmother (who is oh-so-sweet) decided to show everyone that SHE is the one who always does the shopping... by not doing it.
my dad just gave us each $100 bill.
Don't throw out the toys - make sure you donate them. That's my Public Service Announcement for the Day - LOL! I can't believe your husband is that on top of shopping. Mine is always doing 99% of it the last couple days before Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI hate picking out new toys for them. Especially with all the recalls and lead worries.
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking about the same thing today. These kids have wayyyy too many toys and I hate the thought of buying a new set to be barely played with.
