Scotch Magic One Handed Dispenser

First off this dispenser is a snail by shape in default.  It’s kind of cute for a tape dispenser but it is called Scotch Magic One-Handed Dispenser.  I like to call it my little snail.

It has all nice qualities one would want for wrapping gifts at the holiday season or even for birthdays.  It’s small so it can fit into the palm of your hand.  I have used this little snail numerous in the past weeks while wrapping gifts for Christmas.

It is preloaded with a single roll of ¾ inch by 500 inches of tape.  It can be reloaded with ¾ inch Scotch® Magic™ Tape up to 1,000 inches long. It has a green button that you pull back to make the cutter jut out to cut the tape at the desired length one wants.

The only draw I have issues with is that the roller along with the flap the tape lays on is a surface that the tape sticks to.  Which can make it difficult to roll on a straight surface such as a gift box.

Here you can see it rolled up on the roller part of the dispenser.  It can be taken care of quickly but when you’re in a time crunch it can be very frustrating.  I was able to pull back on the green button to cut it so it gave me a little tape flap to pull it off the roller then I had this nice straight piece of sticky tape that I could still use.  Which, that aspect is pretty nice but when it feels like it’s going to happen every time one begins to roll it, it is very disheartening.

This is what it looks like when the tape is rolled on the roller.  That grey flap there is what the tape lays on when ready for action.  The tape does tend to stick to it.  Almost like you have to go slow with this little snail to make sure the start of the tape sticks to the surface you want it on.

This is what it looks like when one begins the adventure with the Snail, in other words Scotch Magic One Handed Dispenser.

If there were a way to make the roller and the tab the tape lays on a non-stick surface, this little doohickey would be GOLD!  I like it along with the many other products they offer such as The Pop Up Tape, The Shoe Dispensers in different colors for the shoe savvy person, or the Classic desktop dispenser in four different colors.

Scotch brand tape has been in my family for years.  I’ve tried others and they just don’t seem to do the job like Scotch does.

WOOORAAAHHH!!! And Policy Info

Got Woopra back on my computer! Now if only I could get one review done a week that would be SUPERFLY! I miss blogging so much.  What I'm able to type is so spacey that I wish I had more time to spend on one subject in each post.

So for those that are looking for reviews from a mom with two boys ages 4 and almost 3 please don't hesitate to email me, caleenna at gmail dot com. I am able to check email mostly on the weekends so send it Friday and you will get a response by late Monday night.  Also from the time I receive the product or the time I receive confirmation of the review it will start the week of using the product, website or what have you.  Then on that last day I will compile on my notes and type up the review, it will sit for a day so that I may come back to it and reread it before posting.  I will also send you, the vendor, a link to the review so that you may do as you please with it.  I will have this posted on the PR page of my site as well so it will be in on spot at all times.

This will be my policy from now and until I can afford to have internet at my own home.  If you have any concerns or questions please email me at the above address.

In other news, my family has been sick the chills the aches you name it we are now starting to get over it but I just went to the doctor today and I have a slight case of bronchitis. Icky stuff I tell you.  The boys though seem to be doing alright and I'm sure they won't get worse.

Gotta go home and call the parents of the child that I babysit and let them know that I now have antibiotics to help me get better.

Enjoy you Monday Night.

You Can Make This

youcanmakethis_personalizednamepillows_1I've been asked to review the Personalized Name Pillows Ebook  from You Can Make This.com.  Let just say it was easy to read just like it was easy to read the tie and apron Ebooks I was sent.

They look really neat, and if and when I ever have the money and time to buy the materials you better believe I'd make one each for my two boys.  Of course I would let them pick out the fabric that want.

Connor would probably pick John Deere, Cars, Transformers, Spiderman, or something animals.  James would probably pick John Deere or SpongeBob.

For your chance to own your very own Ebook, which I've been given the chance to giveaway to TWO READERS.  Your main entry is to tell me how many you make and for who.  Second entry would be to tell me what those pillows might lyoucanmakethis_personalizednamepillows_2ook like.

For EXTRA Entries you may do the following:
~ Follow my blog
~ Subscribe either in email or reader
~ Follow me on twitter.
~ Vote for A Daily Dose at the Social Luxe Lounge for Guilty Pleasure.
~ Then you may just comment on any other POST from the past as long as you come back to this one to tell me which one you've commented on.

Rembrandt Whitening Treatments

white-teeth-1I have recently been brushing my teeth with Rembrandt's Plus Fresh Mint toothpaste.  I've gotta hand it to'em the taste isn't that bad and it does whiten your teeth. Now I'm not a coffee drinker so it worked within three days of using it along with the Whitening Strips.

Being a first time whitening strips user it was pretty funny talking with them on. My husband said, "Now I'm married to a football player." LOL I've never worn teeth guards or had braces before that made me look a little different but that comes with wanting white teeth. I'm glad I was able to have the opportunity to try them.  I also think the strips could possibly be a bit thinner so they aren't as bulky when you put them.  Like I said these were the first whitening strips ever that I have tried and may go back for more.

I also had the oppurtunity to try their Whitening Touch Up Pen. That is for when you are out and about when you need a quick touch up. I keep it in my purse just in case I need to take care of some spots.

My routine for using the strips was to brush my teeth, put the strips on, take a shower and do the rest of my morning routine until thirty minutes have passed.  For the strips you have to rinse your teeth for fifteen seconds with water place the top strip on your upper teeth and the bottom strip on your lower teeth after thirty minutes have passed you take the strips off and rinse out your mouth again.

Movie Review: WALL-E

My mother in law recently bought us WALL-E. We have watched it once so far and it's pretty darn cute considering the things. It starts off showing you Earth covered in trash and WALL-E taking that trash and just building with it in these little squares. Then Eive comes into the picture, she searches this one area where WALL-E works to find some sort of plant life. Well once she puts the plant inside her storage compartment she doesn't shut off but she no longer moves and waits for pick-up.

First a few images of the movie. First we meet WALL-E, the cute little robot who takes cubes of trash and has built buildings or at least something that resembles buildings to clean up the Earth from all the trash it had on it. Let me just say I hope we never get that bad because well we aren't that far in space travel and all that to LIVE out in space. I know it'll take probably thousands upon thousands of years but still there's that technology thing that needs to be advanced.

So then we meet MISS newly polished EVE. These robots were made to come to Earth and just analyze anything in their path for plant life, once they find it they go back to the ship that they were shipped from. Now theses ships are really amazing... yet somewhat brainwashing the humans so they don't find out the truth about why they never returned to Earth, the past SEVEN HUNDRED YEARS. HOLY MOLY! LOL So here's EVE.

Now at first she doesn't realize WALL-E and when she does she shoots at him. Those parts were a hoot. Poor WALL-E trying to figure out what she is, where she's from and why she's here. I'll give WALL-E a thumbs up from being so darn cute and funny.

Well once they figure out each other are okay and not going to hurt each other, WALL-E show EVE his AWESOME stash of such said items, movies, ipod, memory cards, shoes, a lightbulb, and all other sorts of items. One item he threw out and kept it's box.. A DIAMOND! LOL After WALL-E shows EVE the plant it's like she goes into hibernation until her ship picks her back up. Well WALL-E didn't like that and hitched a ride.

And from there they team to save Earth and let the humans come back home. It's very cute, funny and adventurous. I laughed through the whole movie. There was one sad spot in hopes WALL-E would remember EVE
So I leave you with this.

Review of Snapware

I recently had the pleasure of buying some NICE storage containers from Gordman's. My brother had given me a nice gift card to that place and this past Sunday I had my chance to buy anything I wanted. This place had everything from clothing, womens, men, and childrens to bed and bath, and the sale they were having OH.MY.GOSH. I was in heaven.

Anyway the point of this is that Snapware is what these containers are called. I bought them from Gordman's. I'm sure Walmart may carry them as well. So far they are the best kind of storage containers that I've had in a LONG TIME. These actually fit in my cabinets. If you have tupperware you'll now the similar design to what I'm about to show for cereal or anything that you can pour out.

Snapware has all kinds of different storage containers. They range from food to household to craft to pet food and seasonal storage containers(which will come in handy come Christmas time).

The set that I have are called MODS, Modular Organized Durable Storage, from the site "food storage containers are 100% airtight and 100% watertight. The containers are designed with four easy to open and close latches that work together with the silicone seal to keep foods fresh and also to prevent liquids from leaking. The latches carry a lifetime guarantee." So far they have prooven just that.

Here is what they look like in my cabinet:
All neat and stackable too. :) It's so much better than what that looked like before. I will be sure to get more for the cereal.
So uhmm.. yeah what would you have your cabinets look like!? I know they aren't tupperware but I think tupperware would be too big for the way my cabinets are designed.

Now I'll show the containers that are holding the cereal. The remind me so much of the one's my mom has for her cereal since I was little!! The flip tops!!

HOW COOL IS THAT! Another company makes the flip top containers for cereal and actually fit in my cabinets!!! I will be making more purchases for those SOON!

So tell me what you use and what you do or do not like about what you use.

Book Button Magnetic Bookmark

Have you ever been furstrated when reading books and having some flimsy bookmarker. Then once you're done reading you lay it somewhere then you can't find because it's gone missing. Well NO MORE!

I am going to show you one of my wonderful gifts, but first a little background. My parents had gone to New Mexico to visit my grandparents, my mom's parents and to see the Hot Air Balloon Festival. My mom saw this vendor out there that made these really cute bookmarks called the Book Button Magnetic Bookmarkers.

Now before I go any further, I'm not a big reader but a few friends of mine got me hooked on Twilight, am reading it for the second time because I now have my own COPIES. YAY!! LOVING IT! LOL

Anyway more about the Book Buttons. They have all kinds from hobbies to professions from sports to fantasy to gardening, and from gambling to military. OH and they have not left out the animal lovers. They also have culture bookmarkers.

Here are a few pictures of what my mom had given to me along with the link here.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, Enjoy.

Book Review: Oscar the Pig Mommy Goes to Work

Megan Calhoun from TwitterMoms has asked for her book to be reviewed. I offered to do just that. Here is the front cover. Isn't Oscar a cute little piggie.

The starts out by introducing Oscar and his mommy. Oscar is worried about his mommy going back to work, will she come and does she still love him. Now I know a lot of moms who work outside the home have had this happen and can somewhat relate to what their child goes through when they are left at daycare or a babysitters house.

I was there once with BOTH of my boys. It hurt me more than I could ever have imagined.

Oscar's Mommy takes him to the sitters, Mrs. Tutu to meet her and to get to know her surroundings. I for one would have tried to take my child a few weeks in advance so they would get comfortable seeing this new person that was going to start being in their life. I didn't do that, but it just so happens that I was working at the daycare that my first born was placed in.

Oscar and mommy then say their goodbyes after Mrs. Tutu remembers that Oscar likes trains. Then mom is out the door with piggy kisses!

Mrs. Tutu takes Oscar's mind off of his mommy by showing him an egg. A MAGICAL EGG! How neat is that to have something magical to take a kids mind off of something. So Mrs. Tutu counts to three and POOF. They are in another country, China.

Where Oscar meets a panda named Chow Chow who has gone through what Oscar is going through. They talk, play and just have a good time being friends. Then it's time to go back to Mrs. Tutu's house where he finds his mommy waiting for him.

This book is a wonderful example of seperation anxiety. I'm sure some of us know what that is especially those that are moms and work outside the home. Seperation anxiety can happen at any age. This book is "written to appeal to preschool-aged children who are experiencing some form of separation anxiety", said by the author Megan.

I think it's happening to me because I'm not longer living with my parents and well I lived with them for a long time. I've been out of the house for about three and half years and I still don't feel safe in my own home.

I do see my parents every now and then and especially on the holidays. I only live about five minutes from them.

Here is a little bit more about the book and where you can buy it at. Megan Calhoun the author of Oscar the Pig and many other that will follow in the series offers it on amazon.com for 16-18 dollars or Oscar the Pig. Megan also runs a site called TwitterMoms. The book is being published by Silly String Media. You can also visit Megan over at Mahalo.com.

Blogger Interview: Sara

Alright now that Mabels Labels contest is up and running, I give a warm welcome to Sara of Momma Findings and My Sippy Cup Runneth Over. Please grab a Pepsi, iced tea or whatever your posion is and stay awhile.

What got you interested in blogging?

I started my blog as a prayer journal of some sort. We had just recently moved from Memphis to Charlotte and I was having a hard time. I was mourning the loss of my life there with Church, Friends, and comfort. Once we arrived here it seemed so difficult to meet people, find a church, and on top of that we were having marital issues. I've always believed in Prayer, but I seemed so broken that I couldn't utter a word out of my mouth. So silently I started typing each prayer out. It then turned into Momma vents, Momma Stories, and My Sippy Cup Runneth Over was born.

Momma Findings, my review blog, started after I won my very first giveaway on Sophistishe. I browsed her reviews and thought.. "Hmm.. I think I would enjoy reviewing products." I started off with new store products and finally networked my way into others. It's been fun and I enjoy every second of it!

How long have u been blogging?
I started in December 2007

What are some of your favorite posts?

That's a hard one! I have a lot of favorites. You can say I'm my biggest fan!
No Grunting Allowed, Gym Policy - To Grunt or Not To Grunt, that is the question.
P.U. You Stink Mommy! - Nothing says it better than I love you!
Mario Kart Humility - That hurt mommies feelers but forgiveness is always the best give when an apology is said.
The Negotiator - definitely a scare but all was well in the procelain department and mommy didn't even yell. WTG MOM!

What about your favorite bloggers?

I have lots of favs, but here are a few:

Jean Stockdale- She taught a MOMS Bible Study group at Bellevue Baptist Church. The first time I attended I was hooked and immediately took to her teaching. She encourages Moms in such a way that you can't help, but WANT to be a Godly Mother and Wife. She is amazing!

Golden Goodness- Tina was my first REAL connection via Bloggy Land. She left a comment on my boring classic layout blog and when I visited her blog I saw she was hosting a giveaway for a free Blog Makeover. I won and was ECSTATIC to get to work. She redesigned my blog and that's when I realized she doesn't live far from Memphis (Where I used to live and will be moving to in October). She is a hoot and I enjoy "watching" her life as a Christian Momma to two beautiful children.

His Grace is Enough Today- JMBMommy is so encouraging as she speaks about her Walk with Christ. She is a Momma of three beautiful children, living in TX, and using her blog to share her Faith.

What's behind the name of your blog?
As a SAHM to three little ones, it's sometimes hard to see the positive side of things. Lack of sleep, whining and crying, with laundry & dishes, negativity seemed to spill out of my mouth day in and day out. This overwhelming feeling would creep up on me out of nowhere so I made a deal with myself to see all the blessing God has given me instead of all the struggles I face. My Cup Runneth Over is a saying I hear quite often, as to say my blessings are abundant, so I adjusted it to fit my Momma circumstances My Sippy Cup Runneth Over.
.
What types of blogs do you like to read?
I love reading Momma blogs. It's nice to read that others go through the same struggles as mine. Christian Mom Blogs are even more fun for me to read because I share the same Faith they do and I can use every ounce of encouragement in my Walk.

Are there any posts that you HAVEN'T seen on a blog, yet? If so, what would u like to see?
Honestly? I'd like to see marriage discussed more. I know (or at least I hope) that I'm not the only one with an imperfect marriage. There are issues and struggles each couple go through and just like the Mom Blogs give me the Momma Encouragement, I think reading other Wife Matters can do the same. I used to write a Marriage Blog that was more honest than hubby liked. I discussed our trials: Infidelity, Financial Struggles, temptations, and every day life as a wife. I eventually deleted it because it was too much for my better half to read and contribute to. I sometimes wish I hadn't, but I think if more people discuss their struggles in their marriage and how they overcome those struggles through healing... It would speak to a HUGE amt of women, me including.

If they is anything else you would like to add just go ahead and do so.
I just want to add that my blog would be NOTHING if I didnt' have my sweet sweet family. My children: Zach, Abby, & Rudy. My husband of 7 years, Brian. I love you all so much and I feel so blessed to share my life with you and my Blog Readers.

My Stubby Pencil Sketchbook Came in!!

Thanks to Christy from The Write Gal who ran the contest and Stubby Pencil Studios. They sent the sketchbook along with some smencils and two little cards that are just absolutely darling.

The Smencils OMG smell wonderful with the fruit smells, soda smells, and candy smells. As soon as I opened the the bag they were in I could instantly smell them. However DID They get those smells in there.

My Hubs lick one to see if it had any taste and well they don't so they aren't for eating. LOL Keep that in mind if you have little ones.

I doodle in the sketchbook along with jotting down ideas for my posts.

Thanks again to Christy at The Write Gal and Stubby Pencil Studios.
