JURY DUTY!!

If you've had it you will know what I'm talking about, but if not you may live vicariously through me. Now I have never been called for Jury Duty before now. I'll be doing this for the next five months. WWOOOHHOOOO!!! NOT! what am I gonna do. LOL :) Can't wait for it be over.

It's strange because WHY would anyone CARE about my opinion in these gaurdianship trials or traffic court. I mean really would my opinion make that much of a difference. Hell I'm only 23, almost 24 in another month. I haven't lived that long as an adult in my adult life/world to know what's really for the best for someONE else.

Anyway, I missed last weeks trial. OK groovy no big deal. I receive an email saying that my absence was noted and that they know forgetting to call the night before can happen but if it does I'll be in comtempt of court or whatever. YIKES!!

Well apparently this week there WERE two scheduled trials. NOT ANYMORE just one and it's tomorrow and 9 AM. WOOHOO!! NOT FUN. SO I'll be sitting in an uncomfortable chair next to someone I DON'T know and wondering when we'll be let go! I don't do well with just being QUIET during the day. I go batty.

I just hope it doesn't go past lunch time otherwise my hubby wont have much time to sleep.

And tomorrow I'll let you know how it went.

  1. Jess, Sorry about the Jury Duty! I wish I would have known. I could have told you what to say so the attorneys wouldn't have picked you!! I was a paralegal for 15+ years before I left to teach legal writing to paralegal students. Personally I would love to have jury duty but as soon as the attorneys find out I am a paralegal they ALWAYS let me go! :(

    I'll take your place!

  2. I've been called down to jury duty several times, most recently for a murder trial! I didn't get picked for that one. I served on a jury a few years back, and it was the most boring thing in the world. Two mega-rich companies, one US and one international, fighting over the broadcast rights to televise the soccer world cup. ZZZZZZZZ!

    I feel your pain.
