Catch A Rainbow

You will need:
  • Glass of water
  • Piece of White Paper
  • Crayons

Directions

  • Place the glass of water on a windowsill in bright sunlight.
  • Put a piece of paper on the floor below the glass.
  • With the glass sticking out over the edge of the windowsill, move it from side to side until you see a rainbow on the paper.
  • Use crayons to match the rainbow colors on the paper

Enjoy your homemade rainbow. National Geographic Little Kids is the book this came out of along with the next two posts.

  1. We are having so many storms in Wisconsin right now and apparently it is your fault for making rainbows all the time. Enough now ;)

  3. This sounds simple and easy...my kind of craft!! We get National Geographic for Little Kids and Kids National Geographic. I just love those magazines (and seem to have missed this craft idea!).

  6. Aww! See, that's just the kind of thing my kids would love to do and then they'd fight over a crayon and the water would be spilled and then they'd cry and I'd send them both to their rooms and then I'd wonder if it was too early in the day for a glass of wine... Still, it would be fun at first!

  14. I was wondering where you were going with it when I saw the list of materials. That is a cute idea. Provided my two year old would leave the glass alone.
