31 Family Devotions For Christmas Day FIVE Dec. 5th

20 Days Until Christmas
Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These Commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foredheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates
DEUTERONOMY 6:5-9
The holiday are a wonderful time to remember and talk about our journey to faith. It is very importan for our children an dour families to hear how we came to know Christ and what the gift of God's Son means to us. Take a moment to have all family members share what God is doing in their lives.
Prayer:
Dear Father, thank You for calling each of us to be Your child. We are thankful that you love us and take care of us. Help us not only to share our faith with all of those around us, but to live our faith each day.
AMEN
Family Activity:
After dinner one evening, share memories of Christmases past. Talk about favorite ornaments on the tree and where they came from. Tell about your favorite Christmas as a child or special traditions you remember. You and your children will enjoy hearing what each family member has considered special or memorable in the past.
Stress Free Tip:
As you talk about your favorite family traditions, make a list of what each family member considers most important or fun. Have your local newspaper handy and look for any special events coming up. Decide as a family what you would like to do this month and put it on the calendar.
